Day 1

Before I get started, this is a way for me to keep people up to date on whats going on with my eating, and In some way give people an access route into helping me when I waver from the path of going vegan, so please feel free to comment, and ask questions, the main reason Im doing this is to become more healthy and pull myself away from the side of life were animals are used for nothing more than our own gain!

Anyway here we go....

Well, just went to the shops, and asked simply about replacement eggs and vegan cheese, while I knew the reaction would be of surprise, I really did not expect to be laughed at and then be pointed out to the other people working there. I felt like I had something on me that only others could see!

All of this and Its not even the 1st of April the first day of my 1 month vegan only challenge, up until then I'm just slowly working my way through any food that is non-vegan for example, why does Quorn have milk in it I mean common, I'm useless at cooking tofu!

I did pick up some bits, one random purchase I would never have tried as a vegetarian was this Vegideli meat free beef, that actually has the Vegan logo, I was not very hopeful, as most of this stuff I've had in the past has looked the part, but tasted more like cardboard, and some actually managed to taste worse still!

All the same, got home had some bread (that apparently has milk in it, will need to find an alternate) my Vegan friendly sunflower spread (actually used to eat that anyway so no change there) and my wonderful Beef slice... First Vegan lunch.... minus the bread, but give me a break, I'm just warming up, baby steps people!

And....

It was actually really nice!! I can not say if it was the fact I was starving, but the texture was about right, the colour was a little odd, but nothing ever will be perfect and it really did taste like beef, now I'm the first to admit when I was younger years before I met my friend Lauren who helped me go Vegi I was a true carnivore and did wonder why people who want to be vegi/vegan would eat stuff made to taste like meet and I do feel a little weird eating this, but I am impressed they managed to make something taste like beef with no animal products at all.

I guess I'll have to decide in myself as a Vegi/Vegan (where ever I end up) if I feel that eating something made to taste of meat is something I want to stop doing.

Tonight Im going over to Jess's house and were cooking up a vegan dinner, ill let you know how that goes later on! but for now. It does not look to bad, I will need to have to see how this will change my food budget though!
